With missions planned to return to the Moon and take humans to Mars, space exploration is again alive in the popular consciousness. Neighborhood Earth brings together the most current imagery and science from diverse missions to create a comprehensive account of our knowledge of the solar system.
This exhibition takes visitors to places they’ve never been, transporting them through cutting-edge cinematic techniques and projection technologies, to the surface of our closest planetary neighbors. Produced in conjunction with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, Neighborhood Earth combines advanced technology, haptic interactives, and artifacts to tell the story of space science and exploration.
Visitors learn the principles of space flight, aspects of planetary science and of previous milestones in our quest for knowledge. Current missions, that are daily returning astonishing scientific discoveries in amazing detail, are presented via interactive means that allow audiences to become the explorer.
Space Exploration has never been more active globally, Neighborhood Earth engages visitors in an exciting journey through the science of our solar system prompting the question; What does the future of space exploration hold for humankind?
