The countdown to the premiere of Stardust: The Universe in You is on! In preparation for opening day, we wanted to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how this extraordinary experience came to life.

Making the Universe Accessible – and Unforgettable

At its core, Stardust tackles one of the most profound scientific stories: how the elements of life connect us to the cosmos. The subject can feel overwhelmingly complex, but Stardust distills it in an engaging and spectacular way that audiences of all ages can understand. Rather than just simplifying, we illuminate—layering big ideas with striking visuals, immersive interactivity, and a narrative that invites curiosity at every turn. Through immersive storytelling, interactive experiences, and breathtaking visuals, the exhibition breaks down the life cycle of stars, the origins of elements, and the cosmic forces that shape us—designed to delight audiences of all ages. You won’t just learn about these ideas; you’ll feel them through dynamic environments, hands-on exploration, and artful design.

Ensuring Stardust‘s scientific accuracy was a top priority, and Dr. Alec Habig has been instrumental in this effort. A professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota Duluth and a leading expert in neutrino physics, Dr. Habig has helped refine extremely complex science into engaging and understandable interactives. His profound knowledge and insights helped the Flying Fish transform astrophysical phenomena into compelling, accessible content without losing their depth or wonder. The results are dazzling!

Connecting Science, Storytelling, and Spectacle

Stardust is an exhibition designed to be experienced. Vivid, large-scale visuals bring the cosmos to life, while interactive elements let visitors engage with the science firsthand. This isn’t a passive learning experience—it’s a dynamic journey through the universe where visitors don’t just absorb information. They actively explore and discover.

A Collaborative Effort

While Flying Fish led Stardust’s creative development, Cosmosphere and TELUS World of Science – Edmonton are proud partners, supporting the exhibition through their expertise and insights.

We’re excited to reveal more details soon as we count down to the premiere in May this year. Stay tuned as Stardust: The Universe in You prepares to take audiences on an unforgettable journey that will leave you with a sense of wonder and a deeper appreciation for the connections that unite us.

Stardust: The Universe in You is a traveling exhibition produced in collaboration with Spark Initiatives and supported by Cosmosphere and TELUS World of Science Edmonton.
